Client : 30+ senior Information Security and IT Governance professionals that form part of a larger national financial institution.
Situation
- Rapidly growing department with two distinct but interdependent functions
- The teams are fragmented and ineffective at working together
- Opportunity to bring the leadership team together to build cohesion, align on a shared culture, and develop team operating norms
How We Helped
- Conducted deep engagement with senior leaders and employees, uncovering strengths to build on as well as root cause challenges
- Facilitated the extended leadership team through a series of workshops including a LEGO® Serious Play® full-day offsite to create a unified vision, team culture, and norms
- Co-created action plans for the leadership team and the broader group to gain immediate traction on desired culture, and build the required leadership behaviours and practices to support it
Outcomes
- A Team Canvas outlining the leadership team’s agreed-upon vision, core values, behaviours, and commitments
- An articulation of the desired culture for the function and the core principles to anchor it
- A 3-6 month Kanban action plan to mobilize new leadership behaviours and team practices
- An environment of trust and candor that was foundational to increase connection and cohesion
